Entrance Hall

Guests are typically greeted by the Governor and First Lady in this hall.  The bronze state seal is embedded in the Tennessee marble floor at the entrance and also in the door knobs on the front door.

Centered on the table from the USS Georgia is a Gorham sterling silver punch bowl presented by Gov. Joseph Terrell to President Theodore Roosevelt on June 10th, 1907. 

The bronze busts by Jean Antoine Houdon were cast from the original marble busts of 1778.  One is of Benjamin Franklin and the other is of George Washington.  Circa 1870.
